2009 Varsity season recap - Great year for the Mules!

The Kickin Mules hold on to win a game that could have went either way. Shane Shroyer goes 3-3 for the Mules and Bobby Schoch gets the win.

Bedford 15 New Boston Huron 0
Mitch Hooven kept the Hurons at bay with a fine pitching performance. Bedford held New Boston to just 3 hits. Nate Davis went 2-4. The Mules scored 10 in the first inning and never looked back

Shane Shroyer-WP Game 1, Nate Davis-3-for-4 w/ 3 dbles & 2 RBIs. Mitch Hooven-WP Game 2, Shroyer-3-for-5, HR & 3 RBIs, Davis-3-for-5 w/ a dble. Jared Kujawa, Dan Przeniczny, Talon Buck & Hooven had good hitting days. Good "D" also.

Nate Davis led the hitting parade with 2(HR) and 5 RBI. Shane Shroyer, Mitch Hooven had Dan Przeniczny shut down the Blue Streaks. Jared Kujawa had a great day at the plate going 2/3 with 2R, 3RBI, HR, 3B, BB.

Bedford 10 Concord 0
Trent Szkutnick and Mitch Hooven picked up the pitching wins for the Mules allowing only 3 hits on the day and Hooven alsoled the offense, going 4-for-7 with a pair of doubles and 3 RBI. Jared Kujawa added three hits, including a triple to push the Mules to 7-0.

Bedford 8 Dearborn 4
Bedford 12 Carlson 6
Mitch Hooven went 7-for-12 in the three games and was named tournament MVP. Also named to the All Tournament team were Talon Buck and Nate Davis. Trent Szkutnik, Hooven and Talon Buck were the winning pitchers for the Mules
Nate Davis was 7-for-13 with 4 RBI, Shayne Shroyer was 6-for-12 with 5 RBI, Talon Buck drove in 4 runs with 5 hits, Jared Kujawa drove in 4 runs, and Drew Jurgenson and Drew Hendrick each had 3 hits.

Mitch Hooven and Shane Shroyer were unstoppable against Adrian. Slow to get the bats going, but apparently that was solved in the second game.

Trent Szkutnik gets the win f or the Mules. Shane Shroyer led the Mules with a 2-3 performance including a double at the plate.
Bedford 10 New Boston huron 0
Bobby Schoch was the winning pitcher for Bedford while this time it was Jared Kujawa that was a leader for the Mules going 2-3 with a double and a triple. The Mules are now standing at 14-0

Bedford 4 AA Huron 1
Nate Davis nails a home run and plates 3 RBI. Mitch Hooven pitches for the Mules to move them to 15-0
Bedford 13 AA Huron 0
Shane Shroyer allows only 2 hits while shutting down the River Rats. Drew Jurgenson led the Mules going 2-3 fot he Mules. Bedford now stands at 16-0.

Bedford 2 Pioneer 1 (8 inn)
Mitch Hooven pitched the first-game shutout and Talon Buck had a 2 run blast. Jared Kujawa went 2-for-5 with an RBI double. Shane Shroyer started game 2 with Dan Przeniczny coming in for the last four innings striking out six.

Bedford 7 Bishop Foley 3
Bedford 1 Sturgis 2
Bedford's record-breaking winning streak reached 19 games Saturday before the Mules lost to Sturgis in the Madison Heights Bishop Foley Invitational.
Trent Szkutnik picked up the pitching win, and Mitch Hooven and Nate Davis led Bedford with two hits in the first game. Eric Ondrus had a hit in each game.

Shane Shroyer took the win for the Mules with Dan Przeniczny adding 2 hits, including a HR with 2 RBI. Bedford banged out 14 hits.

Bobby Schoch was the winning pitcher in the second game with Talon Buck adding a double to help the Mules keep their great record moving.

Hooven tosses a gem as the Mules shut down Adrian in the district semi final.
Bedford 13 Monroe 4
Shroyer keeps the Trojans at bay while the Mules open up the batting cage to cruise to the District title.

Shane Shroyer take the Regional Semi win over Garden city. A real pitchers duel!
Bedford 11 Taylor Truman 1 CHAMPIONSHIP
Mules dominate Truman to capture Regional crown. State Qtr finals next. Pitching and balnced hitting continue to carry the Mules during this long deserved season.

Bedford 13 U-D Jesuit 4
Tight game for the first 4 innings then the Mules bats came to life and on to the Semi finals go the Mules.

State Semi Final
Bedford 1 Warren DeLaSalle 11
Bedford ran into a strong Warren squad and never was able to get things going in the right direction. The Mules cap a fantastic season, one that this town will not forget about, ever. Good luck to the graduating seniors and the younger players have quite a team follow.
