Parkway North Vikings Set to Begin 2009-10 Season:

October 31, 2009
Parkway North High School

As the weather begins to cool down and the sun begins to fade earlier and earlier into the horizon, it can only mean one thing: The basketball season is right around the corner. The Vikings are coming off of a 10-16 campaign last year. The coaches and the athletes are all chomping at the bit to get the season underway. The players have been extremely competitive in open gym sessions thus far in the fall. Each Monday and Wednesday a good number of athletes come out to get prepared for the season. They have been extremely eager to begin each session as early as possible practically knocking the door down to get into the gym, checking up the ball, and getting started. It is evident that the players are getting in the basketball spirit. Each week, they work harder and harder to get prepared for the first time they lace up their new shoes and get ready for the first drill of the first practice on November 9th. Their competiveness as well as their fundamentals improve as the clock counts down to practice number one.

As the last touchdown is scored, the last flag thrown, and the last whistle blows on another successful season of Viking football, fans, players, and coaches alike are looking forward to the cold weather and an excellent start to the Men's Basketball season.
