Bobcats spoil Cougar's Homecoming

October 31, 2009
Flippin High School

The Sr. Bobcats spoiled the Izard County Cougars Homecoming on Friday night by the score of 54-38.

The Sr. Bobcats got off to a slow start and help just a 4 point lead at the end of the first quarter.  The Bobcats warmed up from outside the three point arc in the second quarter hitting five 3's.  Colbie Butcher and Dillon Hargrove each hit two 3 pointers and Eli Barrow hit a corner bomb and a runner at the half to extend the lead to 10 points at the half.  After the teams played a stalmate third quarter, the Bobcats spread the floor and made free throws down the strech to nail down the road win.

Ten Bobcats saw action in the first half.  Dean Anderson and Jared Lancaster had another stellar defensive performance and controlled the cougar's 6'6" post man for most of the night.  Austin Jefferson played solid on both ends of the floor and made a couple of key free throws down the strech.  Jonathan Crull and Austin Tilley did an outstanding job and keeping constant pressure on the cougar's guards and taking care of the basketball.  John Briggs and Kalen Hudson came in and helped with the interior defensive post play.

The Sr. Bobcats improved their record to 5-0 on the season with the victory.  With 4 road wins on the season, the Bobcats are looking to extend that mark when they take on Lead Hill Tuesday.  The next home game will be next Friday at the Bobcat Den vs St. Joe.  Come out and enjoy Homecoming and support your Bobcats!!!
